This exceptional Omega Ed White has the original dial lume; has the original hands; has an unpolished case; has a lovely grey/blue faded bezel; has the original bracelet; has the original paperwork. I think that's about it! Provenance The very rare original paperwork, which accompanies this Speedmaster, tells us that it was originally bought by Signalman Frank Higham, aged 17, on 2nd October 1965 from the British military NAAFI stores at BAOR 40 in the Reindahlen area of the British ‘Zone' in Germany. Higham bought it for £31.00 and he paid for it over a series of 11 monthly payments. It also comes with the original ‘Credit Sale Agreement' and the original Omega booklet with Higham's details and the movement number, which thereby proves that all the paperwork belongs to this watch – a remarkable survival. THE ED WHITE OMEGA A great deal has been written about the omega Ed White and it's all on the internet, so I'll be brief. Ed White Ed White was the famous astronaut who wore this exact model Omega, strapped to his space suit, when he made history as the first American to walk into space – collectors thereafter dubbed the Ref 105.003 as the ‘Ed White'. The Ed White is rare because only 'a few' were made before it was discontinued and the reference145.012 went into production.
